OS Layers

The DexOS operating system can be hierarchically-defined as a series of layers, from the hardware-based level of the computer to the application level, with the operating system providing intermediary levels. This structure can be best defined with a picture, as illustrated below:

2A: Core Routines

2B: Textual Interface Routines

2C: Graphical Interface Routines

L3: Application Programming Interface

L4: Application Level
